ND Computer Science

2 Years + SIWES · Full Time

The ND is the entry-level diploma in Computer Science building strong foundations in programming, databases, networking, and software development.

  • 5 O'Level Credit Passes (WAEC/NECO/NABTEB) — max 2 sittings
  • Credits must include English Language and Mathematics
  • At least 1 Science/Technical subject credit
  • JAMB UTME minimum cut-off score (180+)
  • Post-UTME screening by the institution
  • Direct Entry requires OND in a related field
National Diploma

ND Artificial Intelligence

2 Years + SIWES · Full Time

Learn Python, machine learning, data science and neural networks and build practical AI solutions for healthcare, agriculture, and business.

Before You Apply

Confirm Your Eligibility

Ensure you meet all entry requirements for ND Computer Science, ND Artificial Intelligence, or ND CS Part-Time. Check that your O'Level results include the required subjects and grades, and that you have a valid JAMB UTME score for the session.

Step 2

Register on JAMB and Choose Your Course

Register on the JAMB portal at jamb.gov.ng. Choose Federal Polytechnic Bali and select Computer Science (or Artificial Intelligence where offered) as your course. Sit the UTME examination at your designated CBT centre.

  • Pay JAMB fees and collect your registration slip
  • Study for UTME Mathematics, Physics + one other

Purchase and Complete Admission Form

After achieving your JAMB score, purchase the Federal Polytechnic Bali admission form online via the institution's student portal or physically at the Admissions Office.

  • Upload your passport photograph and required documents
  • Pay the application form fee as instructed

Step 4

Attend Post-UTME Screening

All ND candidates must attend the Post-UTME screening on the scheduled date. Bring all original credentials and a printed copy of your JAMB result. Screening may include a written test or interview.

Check Your Admission Status

After screening, admission lists are published on the JAMB portal (CAPS) and the Federal Polytechnic Bali notice board / website. Check regularly and monitor your JAMB CAPS dashboard.

  • Visit the school notice board for admission lists
  • Contact the Admissions Office if your name is not listed

Step 6 — Final

Accept Admission, Pay Fees & Register

Once offered admission, accept your offer on JAMB CAPS within the deadline. Then pay your acceptance fee and school fees, and complete departmental registration with the CS Department.

Confirm ND Qualification & SIWES Completion

Ensure your ND certificate (or statement of result) is available and your SIWES industrial attachment is fully completed and certified. An ND Lower Credit minimum is required. This applies to HND Software & Web Development, HND Networking, and HND Cyber Security.

Check the current JAMB requirements for HND Direct Entry. Depending on the session, HND applicants may need to register on JAMB with Direct Entry credentials. Confirm on the JAMB website before proceeding.

Obtain and Submit HND Application Form

Purchase the HND admission form from the Federal Polytechnic Bali Admissions Office or student portal. Complete all sections and attach copies of all required documents.

Attend HND Departmental Screening

The CS Department conducts an HND-specific screening which may include a brief interview or aptitude assessment to confirm academic competence and readiness.

Accept Offer, Pay Fees & Register

Choose Your Certificate Course

Step 2

Visit the CS Department Office

Visit the Department of Computer Science office at Federal Polytechnic Bali to collect the certificate course registration form, confirm the intake schedule, and ask any questions about the course content.

Pay Course Fees

Pay the registration and course fees as specified. Keep your payment receipt safely it will be needed during the first class for verification. No registration is complete without payment.

Attend Your First Class

Report on the announced start date with your receipt, valid ID, and writing materials. You'll be inducted into the course, given your timetable, and introduced to your instructor.

JAMB UTME Registration

Registration for the JAMB UTME examination. Visit jamb.gov.ng to register with your NIN.

UTME CBT Examinations

March – April 2025

Conduct of the JAMB UTME Computer-Based Tests. Candidates receive a timetable with their exam date and CBT centre.

Admission Form Sales

May – June 2025

Federal Polytechnic Bali admission forms become available for eligible candidates after UTME results are released.

Post-UTME Screening

July – August 2025

Departmental Post-UTME screening exercise. Candidates must attend with original documents.

First Admission List

August – September 2025

The first batch admission list is published on JAMB CAPS and the institutional notice board / website.

Resumption & Registration

October 2025

Newly admitted students resume, pay fees, complete departmental registration, and begin academic work.

Admission FAQs

Can I use only one sitting for my O'Level results?
Yes, one sitting is preferred and strongly recommended. Federal Polytechnic Bali accepts a maximum of two sittings for O'Level results, provided the candidate obtains the required 5 credit passes across both sittings, with English and Mathematics included. Some departments may require specific subjects in a single sitting confirm with the Admissions Office.
How do I choose between the three HND programmes?
Choose HND Software & Web Development if you want to build applications and websites; choose HND Networking if you want to design and manage networks and infrastructure; and choose HND Cyber Security if you want to protect systems and investigate attacks. All three share the same entry requirements and duration.
What is the ND Artificial Intelligence programme about?
ND Artificial Intelligence is a 2-year full-time diploma covering Python, data science, machine learning, neural networks, NLP, computer vision, and AI ethics. It's ideal for students who want to specialise in AI early. Graduates can work as AI support staff or proceed to a related HND.
Who is the ND Part-Time programme designed for?
The Part-Time ND Computer Science programme is designed for working professionals and other busy applicants who cannot attend weekday classes. Lectures hold in the evenings and on weekends over 3 years. Graduates receive the same ND award as full-time students and may proceed to any HND programme.
What happens if I don't pass the Post-UTME screening?
Candidates who are unsuccessful at the Post-UTME stage are not offered admission in that session. They may reapply in a subsequent session after improving their JAMB score or O'Level qualifications. The Post-UTME score is combined with the JAMB UTME score to determine merit-based admission placement.
Can I transfer from another institution into ND or HND?
Inter-institutional transfers are possible but subject to NBTE guidelines, available space, and departmental approval. Transfer applicants must meet all standard admission requirements and may be required to sit additional assessments. Contact the Admissions Office directly for the current session's transfer policy.
Is there a specific age limit for admission?
There is no strict upper age limit for ND or HND admission at Federal Polytechnic Bali. JAMB requires candidates to be at least 15 years old. Mature-entry provisions exist for older candidates. Certificate courses have no age restrictions at all.
